1970 :
1st Prize at Expo-Sciences Montréal for a study of the Oka niobium mine, and Award of the Geological Association of Canada (G.A.C.) at the pan-Canadian edition of Expo-Science.
1971-1972 :
President of the Association des Jeunes Scientifiques du Québec (A.J.S.) and Secretary-Treasurer of Expo-Sciences Montreal.
1977 to 1981 :
MRNQ’s Geology team leader for zinc metallogeny in Gatineau.
1978 to 1980 :
Scholarship from the Belgian Government to study lead-zinc deposits in Western Europe, as part of an EEC program. Doctoral internship with the Mine Prospecting Laboratory at the University of Liège (Belgium). Also for St. Joe Minerals Ltd., study trips to the United States and within Europe to develop lead-zinc deposit expertise.
1981-2011 :
Professor of Mining Prospecting, Université du Québec à Montréal.
1982 :
Gold Medal awarded by the President of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy for Ph.D. thesis.
1984 to 1988 :
MRNQ project leader for an assessment of the mining potential in the Eastern Townships-Beauce region. Also a member of the Eastern Townships ACDE mining committee, chaired by B. Coulombe, President of JM Asbestos.
1987 :
The Golden Hammer awarded by Québec’s Minister of Energy and Resources for the assessment of mining potential in the Eastern Townships-Beauce region.
1985 to 1987 :
Secretary-Treasurer of the Association Professionnelle des Géologues et Géophysiciens du Québec (now known as the Ordre des Géologues du Québec).
