François Robert
Honorary Chair François Robert, Ph. D., chief geologist at Barrick Gold Corporation, will preside.
Mr. Robert is Chief Geologist—Global Exploration at the firm Barrick Gold, which he joined in 1997. He is in charge of developing exploration concepts and tools as well as ensuring the technical performance of exploration projects around the world.
He worked as a researcher in the Mineral Deposits Division of the Geological Survey of Canada from 1985 to 1997. Mr. Robert holds a Ph.D. in economic geology from École Polytechnique and a postdoctoral degree from the University of Michigan . He is internationally recognized for his work on gold deposits
