Speaker: Christian D'Amour (Géotic)
Salon Québec, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. (Bilingual)
Full day session
This course is intended for current users of Geotics products looking to broaden their understanding of the potential of Geotics software and available options. By the end of the session, participants will have reviewed the various levels of customization and settings that enable users to make optimum use of the potential of this type of software and be able to make functional application adjustments to meet the precise needs of individual mining projects. The course provides opportunities for reflection and exchange of information on best practices for entering, validating, sorting and presenting drilling information to meet a professional framework that is ever more demanding and complex.
The speaker will highlight understating of the UTM and MTM reference systems and QAQC quality control information processing and monitoring.
Note: Participants will need to bring their personal portable computer with the three installed Geotics software programs to the session.
Speaker: Steve Piercey (Memorial University of Newfoundland)

Salon Laval, 9 h - 16 h (English)
Full day session
This workshop will enable participants to optimize the use of acquired lithogeochemical data to guide mineral exploration.
Speakers: Réal Daigneault, Professor of Structural Geology (UQAC) and CONSOREM Coordinator, Stéphane Faure and Silvain Rafini (CONSOREM)
Organized by: The Student Chapter of the Society of Economic Geologist Université du Québec à Chicoutimi
Salon Saint-Louis, 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Full day session
Workshops participants in the workshop will be able to familiarize themselves with various concepts of structural analysis in different exploration settings such as Archean greenstone belts and highest-grade metamorphic landscapes. The methodology employed will be an encapsulated return to basic principles of deformation, followed by examples and applications in an exploration context, all of which will be interspersed with third party mini-lectures on specific subjects.
The following will be discussed:

The generation of symbolized geological maps delivered since the Atlas and the manipulation of FGDB geodatabases will be discussed, as well as the concept of analytical results in the form of denormalized tables. Examples of spatial analysis to illustrate certain types of geological relations will be used as they represent the preliminary step in any evaluation of potential.
