Geological compilation of the Ungava Orogen

This document (DV 2007-03) consists of a compilation map at 1/250,000 scale of the Ungava Orogen and a stratigraphic lexicon of geological units. The map shows, for the first time, a comprehensive view of stratigraphic units based on correlations of stratigraphic formations and lithodemic units across different parts of the orogen mapped by the MRNF from 1983 to 1988 and by the GSC from 1985 to 1992. The stratigraphic lexicon lists in descriptive form the various geological units of the Ungava Orogen. Many new stratigraphic units are formally introduced in this reference work that will be very useful for those using SIGEOM digital products, particularly the geology polygon layers.

The new map will be available on the MRNF website on November 27.
